Book Review: Heartstopper Volume 2

Heartstopper Volume 2 by Alice Oseman

My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Boy meets boy. Boys become friends. Boys fall in love. An LGBTQ+ graphic novel about life, love, and everything that happens in between: this is the second volume of HEARTSTOPPER, for fans of The Art of Being Normal, Holly Bourne and Love, Simon.

Nick and Charlie are best friends. Nick knows Charlie’s gay, and Charlie is sure that Nick isn’t.

But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is discovering all kinds of things about his friends, his family … and himself.

Heartstopper is about friendship, loyalty and mental illness. It encompasses all the small stories of Nick and Charlie’s lives that together make up something larger, which speaks to all of us.

This is the second volume of Heartstopper, with more to come.

Read my review of Heartstopper #1

Again, I am super excited to share this one with you guys. This series is so (ridiculously) adorable I can’t even. The last book in this series ended with a cliffhanger, so I HAD to read this one. I read the webcomic version of this one but I liked it so much that I couldn’t stop myself from buying it. Or maybe that’s me being spendthrift.

I should save up for the next semester but I haven’t really purchased a lot of books this year.

Anyway, this one begins right where the first book ends, and even though I had given the first book five stars, I loved this one better. It’s the story of two guys, Nick and Charlie, who fall in love with each other. Nick, who’s always thought that he’s straight, is confused about his sexual orientation. He’s fallen in love with Charlie, who’s this super cute gay guy in Year 10.

It’s another review where I don’t have anything to say other than how cute and adorable the story was, how cute the drawings were and how adorable the characters are. I just loved these two boys. And I had never wanted to read Solitaire by Alice Oseman before, but I guess I’ll be checking it out because I wanna know more about these people. So, if you haven’t read this, just go and buy it right now. It’s also available on Tumblr and Tapas.
