Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

Hey guys, I hope you are all doing fine. I can’t believe half of 2019 is already gone and I haven’t done much this summer, other than lying in bed and watching yummy recipes on YouTube. Anyway, it’s time to freak out and talk about the books I’ve read this year. I haven’t been tagged by anyone, but I still love this tag so much that I wanna do it. So, let’s begin, shall we?

Best book you’ve read so far this year

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

I’m glad that I gave this psychological thriller a chance, because it was super intriguing and amazing. It is by far the best book I’ve read this year.

Best sequel you’ve read so far this year

The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson

I’m so glad that I decided to read this series this year. I am not a good reader, because I avoid books that have sequels, and when I don’t, it takes me a million years to read the sequel. But this one was super fun and adventurous. I can’t wait for the third book. I want the ARC of that book!

New release you haven’t read yet but want to

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

I have a lot of books that I need to read this year. But I’d just want to name one for now. I’m super excited about this one. And no, it’s not because I love pink.

Most anticipated release

Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell

Just see the beautiful cover, will ya?

Biggest disappointment of this year

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Okay, this one is a bit problematic. I should have fallen in love with it, and I wanted to! But I found it boring. Blah. But I think I should give it another chance next year. Maybe.

Biggest surprise

Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett

I hate “cute books” and everyone had called this book “cute”, and I was a bit skeptical. That’s all. I loved this book.

Favorite new author

I don’t really think I have one favorite author. I have loved so many books by different authors. But I did love Maureen Johnson‘s Truly Devious series so much. So, I guess it’s her.

Newest fictional crush

ADAM CHEN from Love from A to Z. I just love Adam so, so much. I think I haven’t loved any real guy as much as I’ve loved Adam.

Newest favorite character

Percy Newton from The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue.

Book that made you cry

Golden Boy (5/21/13) by Abigail Tarttelin

Golden Boy by Abigail Tarttelin

This book is so good and so amazing. I cried a lot while reading it. I’m very happy that I read it. It is also one of my favorites of all time.

Book that made you happy

Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Well, this book always makes me happy. It makes me smile. It makes me feel that nothing is unfair in this world. I just adore this book.

Favorite book to movie adaptation you’ve seen this year

Does Five Feet Apart count? The book came out before the movie. And I have a massive crush on Cole freaking Sprouse.

Favorite review you’ve written this year

Umm, I wish I had a favorite review. I don’t really have one. Why don’t you guys decide for me? Here.

Most beautiful book you’ve bought or received so far

Like A Love Story by Abdi Nazemian

Just look at the beautiful cover and tell me. Isn’t it the most beautiful thing you’ve seen this year? OKAY FINE!! But it’s still my favorite. Now let me go and hug my book.

Books you need to read by the end of this year

Again, but Better by Christine Riccio

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

I guess I need to read these two by the end of this year. And I am super excited. There are others books too that I’m excited about, but I think these two are special.

I won’t tag anyone. But I’d like to know your answers too. Let’s talk in the comments.

So, that’s all for today.
