Popular Books I Haven’t Read

While writing this post, I realized that I haven’t read any popular book. And I know a lot of you are gonna be like:

I don’t have a good history with classics. I don’t really enjoy them much and reading them feels like work. I would probably start reading them when I’m in my sixties (if I’m lucky enough) and I have so many I have yet to read but I would just name one.

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

I am an avid reader of contemporary. So, everybody expects me to read all of the famous contemporaries. But, I can’t. And I really don’t like books with overused tropes. But, there are some popular books that I have to read. I’m just gonna name one of them, and I know that it is gonna be amazing. I don’t know why I haven’t read it, because I have loved this author’s work in the past and she writes such amazing YA contemporaries.

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

I have so many books on my Goodreads shelf from my favorite genre that I haven’t read and want to read. But there’s no time. Anyway, this is one book that I should have purchased, devoured and worshiped by now, but I haven’t.

On the Come Up by Angie Thomas

I am so bad at reading series’. And when one of the most popular series on the planet has seven books, I don’t even feel like reading it. Do you know which series I’m talking about? I would love to read it but I don’t want to be stressed about reading it. So, it’s waiting on my Goodreads shelves.

Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling

I’m not the biggest fan of fantasy and sci-fi and dystopia. I haven’t read many fantasy books. And that is mainly because 1) so many fantasy books are a part of series and I detest reading series, and 2) I sometimes have a hard time accepting the world in fantasy books. I have tried to read fantasy, though. A fantasy series that I have not finished yet (I was reading it but then I put it aside) but would love to read is

Six of Crows Series by Leigh Bardugo

So, I don’t think I have a favorite author anymore. But, before I became a book blogger, my favorite author used to be John Green. I was so obsessed with his works and that’s why I am gonna name one of his popular books that I haven’t read yet. I have watched the movie based on this book and I really, really enjoyed it. But I like books more than movies, and I would LOVE to read it. I own a copy of this book and I really want to read it asap, but I have so many other books to read.

Paper Towns by John Green

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. I would really like to know the popular books you haven’t read yet! Let’s talk about them in the comments.

    1. I haven’t read any of the books you’ve mentioned lol, and I’ve only read one of Shakespeare’s plays. I do want to read Harry Potter next year though, and maybe Lord of the Rings after some time! Hope you enjoy them when you read them.
