Goodreads Choice Awards 2019: The Books I’ve Voted For [Semifinal Round]

Hi, everyone. I hope you’re all doing fine! In this post, I’m going to talk about the books I’ve voted for, for the Goodreads Choice Awards. My friend Suzan did this post a few days ago and asked me to do it, and I loved the idea. Also, by the way, she writes about books, culture, real life issues and much more, and you need to follow her blog.

I have only voted in a few categories because I don’t usually read all of the categories. So, here is the list of the books I’ve voted for. I hope you enjoy this post!

Mystery and Thriller

God, this one should’ve been tough because so many amazing books have been nominated in this category, but I voted for the only one that I’ve read out of all of these amazing ones. I really, really loved The Silent Patient, but it kinda messed me up for days and I felt super depressed. Anyway, I knew I had to vote for this book in some category, and this one it is!

Romance

So many amazing romance books have released this year, and I haven’t even read the bestselling ones. But even if I had read all of those books, I would’ve voted for my favorite book of this year, which is Red, White & Royal Blue. I really loved it, especially because it was so much more than an average contemporary of two people falling in love.

Science And Technology

Okay, I don’t usually read science and technology stuff and I wouldn’t have purchased a copy of this one if I wasn’t so impulsive. But when I started reading this book, I texted my brother and said, “THIS IS THE BEST BOOK EVER JUST READ IT” (I was again being super dramatic but…okay). But yeah, I mean, it’s super fun and interesting and good!

Best Graphic Novels and Comics

This one was tough because I have read quite a few graphic novels and I saw quite a few of them being nominated. And I had to choose…ugh! It was really bad, but I eventually chose Heartstopper by Alice Oseman, who is probably gradually becoming one of my favorite authors…if she had created the world, we would’ve been so much happier, you know! No, I am not biased.

Best Debut Novel

So, this one wasn’t tough at all, because I knew I had to vote for my favorite book of the year! I think it’s the best debut novel of this year. You should all just buy your own copies read it!

Young Adult Fiction

This one was the toughest. I mostly read Young Adult because that’s my favorite category. And so many of the great books have been nominated and I’m like…give me a chance to read all of them ughh???? But I don’t have the chance and I need to vote and that’s so unfair! Anyway, I voted for Love from A to Z but this one seems so wrong because I haven’t even read so many other books that have been nominated and I would like to! I know my vote would change, but not this year.

So, these are all of the books I have voted for. I have read more than fifty books this year and it seems like I only talk about a few of them and I have voted for the same one’s lol. But it makes sense I guess!

So, now, I would like you to tell me what you’ve voted for this year. Let’s talk in the comments below.

        1. Yes, I’m planning to read from a lot of genres if I’m able to, without being in a perpetual reading slump. I’ll definitely vote for more next year. 😍😍

Well I know it won’t matter, you will leave some books alone. Where is my post of unread books? I am doing the guilty readers tag. πŸ˜‡βœŒ

I always get bored and put the books away and never pick them up again. I mean, there’s so many other books to read. What can I do? πŸ™„πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

Okay, can’t wait to read your answers 😍😍 I want to do that post, but I don’t have a lot of books to talk about…yet.

  2. Glad you enjoyed The Silent Patient; I hope to read it some day. I didn’t vote in many categories this year, but had to choose Once Upon a River for Historical fiction. The storytelling there is brilliant!
