Hey, everybody! It’s time to do the Blogger Recognition Award. I was nominated by Alex @ MyBookWorld (thank you, Alex, for tagging me).You all need to check their blog out and follow ’em asap!

2. Write a post to show your award.
3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
5. Select up to fifteen bloggers you want to give this award to.
6. Comment (or pingback) on each blog to let them know that you’ve nominated them and provide a link to the post you’ve created.
So, how did I start my blog?
Storytime! But it’s not really an interesting story lol.
I had started reading YA books in 2018 when I was unwell. And then I just kept reading a lot of books because I didn’t want to think about the real-life problems that were knocking on my door lol. I love reading and I know I’ve become a better person because of the books and I’ve learned SO MANY THINGS about the world and people and everything and I am very thankful that there are these amazing authors who try to make the world better by writing these amazing and eye-opening stories… but I had to do something if I had to keep reading. I just couldn’t read and feel guilty about wasting my time and money when I could be productive even though I know that’s not how it works?? Ugh, it feels like y’all are gonna hate me or something now. But that’s how I felt, and it was probably because I was stuck at home with nothing but these books and I had to do something.
So, I started this blog. To feel productive. The name’s been inspired by a chapter (called Poets & Pancakes by Asokamitran) in my English book of twelfth grade. I just loved the name for some reason, and when I started this blog, that’s what I had in my mind. I love my blog’s name but I sometimes wonder if anybody thinks where pancakes š„ are?
I’ve probably bored you all to tears. Before you guys unfollow me, let’s move on.
My advice to new bloggers
I’m probably not the right person to give advice because I’ve barely figured anything out myself, but there are a few things I would like to say.
I believe it’s very important to know why you’re blogging. I started my blog without any idea what I was doing, and I hadn’t even seen other bloggers who were writing about books. It didn’t work out well for me lmao and I had to change a lot of things..but we evolve. So, I think it’s important to know your purpose.
Sticking to writing about something you’re actually passionate about is important too! If you don’t do it, you’ll get bored with blogging, won’t feel like posting as often as you want to, and won’t feel motivated no matter what. It adds to the unnecessary stress that you can totally eliminate.
Also, make friends (even if you’re shy): I am a very shy person, especially online. Believe me, I used to disappear for days when someone would comment on my blog posts. It sounds funny but I used to question everything I said in my replies if I ever had a comment. I used to triple-check my grammar and everything. I used to visit other blogs but I never commented on any of their posts no matter how much I adored them. It was really difficult but I’ve found that it becomes easier with time. I think it’s important to hear someone say that it’s okay to take your time while blogging, especially if you think your blog is important to you. Don’t rush.
Other than that, I think it’s pretty important to find your voice, be original, use relevant tags for more likes, and make a lot of friends!
I wanna tag these amazing people (it’s okay if awards aren’t your thing but I just wanna tell you all that I love your blogs so much š):
1. Suzan @MagicalBookLush
2. Kat @KBBookReviews
3. Rain @TheWithering
4. Emer @ALittleHazeBookBlog
5. E @LocalBeeHunter’sLittleNook
6. Kayla @KaylasWordsmithy
7. Kathryn @MetaphorsandMiscellanea

Thank you!! What a nice surprise. I love your blog as well! I totally resonate with being too shy. Iām always trying to find the motivation to respond to comments. Not because I donāt appreciate them, but Iām always so nervous about what I should say and how I should say it.

I loved your answers, Nikita. Such a nice story about how you started your blog, it didn’t bore me at all!
I agree that it is essential to find your voice as a blogger, and like you I was shy to begin with, feeling like an imposter in some ways.
It has been great to discover your blog š

Oh, I relate so much to what youāve said!
I also feel guilty for spending my time on books and other things that relax me and are fun for meā¦ Iāve even noticed lately that I only put a checker in my bullet journal tracker only when I post something not if I work on a post or do blog hopping!
And I have awful anxiety ā honestly getting involved in the bookish community is my attempt to fight it ā so commenting on other peopleās posts and replying to other peopleās comments is A Processā¦ I tend to avoid checking my notifications for some time after I post something so I have the time to get ready to be social? It sounds weird but I need to accumulate that brain energy lol
Also, thank you so much for the nomination!!! Iāll try to do it soon but I still have some other tags and I havenāt been spending an awful lot of time here since I overloaded myself in Blogtoberā¦ But Iām super excited about it!! ā¤ ā¤

Yikes, š I do because I literally had nothing to do except binge-watch One Direction videos (that was the best part) and read books, and I was feeling useless and it was the craziest feeling ever š¤Ŗš Don’t go crazy. I think one crazy person is good enough in the country of 1.3 billion people š and don’t you dare take a break or I’ma send a million stink-eyes in your direction š

I love one direction. It’s my life. Perfect and steal my girl are my favourites. You are useless because you leave books unfinished. You are very crazy so the feeling has to be crazy…ššš yeah let me leave the copyright of crazy person to you. I just took one. I feel sickly dead but I really wanted to talk to someone and these days you are my first choice because you are so sweet. I love talking to you.
The surprise is out. Go and check it out.
