What I’m Reading & Watching This Week #4

Hey everyone! Last week wasn’t really amazing for me, but I got to read a lot of books and comics and watched a few episodes of some series. Today, I’m going to talk about the books and movies I’m going to watch this week.

Reading: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

I have heard a lot about Sarah J. Maas’s books, and I’m finally reading one. I went in blind, so I’m expecting it to surprise me a lot. I do not read a lot of fantasy, but my last few reads have made me ask myself why? I am really loving it! So far, it’s been really interesting. February wasn’t a great month for me reading-wise, and that is because I wanted to read a lot of books that would blow me away, and I didn’t love any of the ones I’ve read so far! I did not give more than three-stars to any book, and I’m expecting to give it more than that!

We Are The Ants by Shaun David Hutchinson

This one is a young adult sci-fi about a boy who is abducted by aliens and is told to save the world. I have read about fifty pages of it — it’s a bit depressing, and I’m not really in the mood to read a sad book right now. However, it’s really, really interesting and I do want to know how things are gonna pan out. So far, it feels more like a four-star read?

Bastard by Youngchan Hwang/ Carnby Kim

This is a thriller webcomic, and I had heard it had some horror elements? But so far there haven’t been any. It’s about a boy who lives with his father, who is a murderer and he is his accomplice. The premise of this comic piqued my interest. I usually pick it up at night and the engaging episodes do not let me sleep. However, it’s taking me a lot of time to finish it because I’m reading it in French, and I’m still not good enough at the language.

Watching: Stranger Things

I decided to hop on the bandwagon and watch this Netflix series. I’m always late when it comes to reading and watching popular books and shows, and so far, my brother and my two best friends have harangued me for not watching it. I do not want to admit it, but it’s really good. I already love these kids and I’ll probably write a review when I’m done watching all of the seasons of this show.

The last week has been really amazing in terms of reading. I hope the next few weeks are productive too!

So, what are you guys gonna read and watch this week? Have you read these books and watched this show? Let’s talk about them!

  1. Stranger Things was a good series. I am now watching Sense 8. The first three or four episodes are deceiving, as they are super confusing and you think that this is the most screwed up storyline ever. Once you figure out what is going on, or at least what is sort of happening, it is really good! I want to finish Season 1, watch Season 2, then rewatch Season 1 as my boyfriend says you pick up so many more things the second time you watch it.

    1. Ah, I’d never heard of Sense 8 and I just looked it up — it has rave reviews and definitely looks interesting!
I get that. I hope you love both of the seasons of this series and enjoy watching it again. I agree with your boyfriend about that. ๐Ÿ’–

Also, I’m enjoying Stranger Things so far — it’s SO intriguing and I’m loving the characters. I’m glad you liked it, too!
