The ‘I Should Have Read That Book’ Tag

Hey y’all, I’m popping up after a long time to say hello and do a book tag. I know that I promised that I’d be back and all, and I kinda went back on my word, but the truth of the matter is, I’m juggling with too many things at the moment — my examinations have been announced and I don’t even have 10 days to prepare for them, my college applications are hanging over my head along with the stress of landing a passable internship, and of course, coronavirus hasn’t been easy on any of us. And I’m practically burning the candle at both ends these days. 😀 So much for the real-life problems.

I also haven’t done a book tag in a long time, and they’re my favorite posts to do. So, I decided to look at the ones I’ve been tagged in by so many of my amazing friends and fellow bloggers here, and found the one I really enjoyed reading. I was tagged in this one by Meghan @Meghan’s Whimsical Explorations & Reviews. I have been following her blog for a hot minute now and it’s one of my favorites. I really enjoy reading her posts (even though I haven’t been able to read many in the last three months). Guys, just follow her if you aren’t already– she’s one amazing blogger! πŸ’– Now, let’s just get started!

The Rules

  • Thank the person who tagged you and link back to their post.
  • Link to the creator’s blog in your post
  • Answer the questions below
  • Tag 10 others to take part in the tag (it’s tough to tag 10 people, my lazy ass tried ok?😭)
  • Enjoy the tag!

A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

The Shining by Stephen King. I’m not sure why my brother and friends are super obsessed with making me feel scared… all they ever recommend me is a horror book. I’ll read it some time though. I’ll have to.

A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you never read it.

Oh god, there’s just so many. I feel like I think a lot about books but never actually read them. I would say Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari has been on my TBR the longest. When am I gonna read it? Who knows?!

A book in a series you’ve started and haven’t gotten around to finishing.

There’s way too many series that I’ve started and I haven’t finished. I read City of Bones and haven’t read any of the books in the Mortal Instruments series. I read The Raven Boys and haven’t read any other book after that in The Raven Cycle series. And there’s way too many. In my defense, I read them not too long ago, and I’m still hoping that I’ll get those books and finish these series, but y’know what, honestly I really, really don’t like reading series. UGH.

A classic you’ve liked the sound of, but have never actually read.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. I started reading this book, but I never finished it. My copy of it is way too big because it was meant for school and has some analysis or whatever it’s supposed to have, and it scares the hell outta me. I’ll probably be able to read it though.

A popular book that everyone but you has read

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Everyone and their mother has read this book, and… I’m gonna read it, but I have no idea when. Okay, I’ll admit — I haven’t read ANY popular book.

A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but just haven’t picked up yet

YOU by Caroline Kepnes. I really enjoyed the first season of YOU — the second one was not good –and I haven’t read the book. I’m probably not gonna read it anymore as I already know the story?

A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet.

Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand. Even though the book description has already won me over and I know that people mention this book quite often, I haven’t picked it up yet. But it’s definitely something I’m interested in reading.

I tag: Aria, Prachi, Yesha, Apurva, Beck, and YOU.

So, that’s about it guys! I hope you have a good weekend (I mean, we’re practically living in a dystopia but…)

I’m all for reading The Shining… I’m a big Stephen King fan so I’m biased, but it was a good read, definitely will give you a bit of a fright!
