Reacting to 5-Star Reviews of the Books I Hate – After by Anna Todd

We all know that eating burgers with extra cheese and Coke is not good for health, but we still eat them. This is exactly how I can explain my relationship with this series – it’s junk. Bad for health, yet super addictive. No matter how hard I try, I end up thinking about the cluster-fuck that After is. Recently, I found myself browsing Amazon and a few days later, by some sort of sorcery, a copy of After We Collided (After #2) was at my home and my mom was fuming because money apparently doesn’t grow on trees. After a failed attempt at reading it, I thought about doing this amazing post, which is me trying to read reviews of it and reacting to them while procrastinating on reading the second part. So, allons-y.

Oh, I should tell y’all that I love these reviews and they’re literally the most hilarious things ever. If you come across your review in my post and want me to remove it, please tell me and I’ll do so.

After was MY DRUG and I CRAVED this story the more I read…like air needed to breathe

Air? More like carbon monoxide, slowly poisoning away the body – mostly my brain cells tbh. I’m sorry if that’s wrong and illogical but I failed science and haven’t studied it in a long time. Anyway, you get my point.

V toxic and unhealthy. I loved the shit out of it.

They had us in the first half, not gonna lie.
I do get what they’re saying tho cuz thats what I would say about Twilight. Also, I’ve noticed that I mention Twilight a lot.

So, why did I love this book? Pretty much for all of the reasons I hated it for

Honestly this book changed my life, not only on a physical and emotional level, but a spiritual one. I transcended into a higher being upon completion of the book, and have since gained the ability to fly. Although it might be controversial, the second coming of Jesus Christ is already here and her name is Anna Todd. Thank you for propelling us into the next stage of human evolution Anna. Praise be her.

Ha! I’m speechless??? I’m stunned because they get it??? I can’t help but say that I totally, totally agree with them and omg they captured my feelings?? 😭

My heart literally hurts right now after finishing it, because I did not see that ending coming.

It could also be a heart attack or anxiety attack induced by constant stress (for 600 pages!) and hypertension because this book sure increased my blood pressure.
*basic biology leaves the chat*

This post looks super short, but believe me I had copied 10 of them, and then I did the best thing ever and lost the links from where I had copied the reviews. I did have fun reading them tho. I’m a teeny bit gutted that I couldn’t share them with you guys because of my laziness. Also, Idk how to navigate this block editor thingy yet and it makes my blogging life shittier than it was before. Maybe one day I will not be so technologically challenged, but until then, sayonara.

  1. I’ve not read this book but the post idea is great! I love reading Goodreads reviews – 1star reviews of good books and 5star reviews of terrible ones tend to be the funniest! 📚❤️ X x x

  2. I tried this book – a few times in fact (via audio book) but yeah, I DNFed it like 4 times, and then the 4th time was 100% done with it.
I appreciate that everyone has different tastes, etc, but this one is one that I just can’t wrap my head around the “why?” of people being able to find enjoyment in it. But that’s on me.
